He is the market's keeper of memory. He doesn't just put prices on things; he holds the histories of objects whose time has passed, and sells them to visitors as stories you can touch. His shop is full of yesterday's belongings, from hanging scales and brass dallahs to old books. From behind the glass counter, he tells passersby about things that outlived their first owners and found a home on his shelves.
